Hannah had her monthly labs drawn last week and not to much has changed. Her total bilirubin is still lingering at a 4. The GI doctor wasn't to happy with the results, but she was fighting double ear infections, a cold, and on amoxicillin. She said she can not make much of a judgement call while she is sick. They also did a total abdominal ultrasound where they looked at her liver, spleen, pancreas, and kidneys and their blood flow. The doc was very pleased with those results. Hannah still seems to be getting good blood flow in and out of her liver, so that was fantastic news!! Another month passed and Hannah still seems to be doing well. Every month I feel like that is a milestone for her!
I also wanted to inform everyone since we have started this journey, I have met some amazing moms that are going through the same thing with one of their children. Even though there is only a few of us in Saint Louis, I have been in contact with one mom in particular that is very active in awareness for Biliary Atresia and Organ Donation. For the past 3 years, she has been in charge of a fundraiser called the Art for the Cure. It is a silent auction of art, photography, and gift baskets along with a great food, drinks, and entertainment! I have been very fortunate to help her out this year with the event. I am so excited to be apart of something so spectacular. The date for the event is Friday, April 27th. So save the date! It will be a great time for a great cause (supporting Hannah and all the children that have gone or are going through what she has and will). All proceeds will be donated to Saint Louis Childrens Hospital specifically for Biliary Atresia research and funding. I will post a flyer as soon as I have one with more information:) I hope you can make it!!
