First clinic appointment....

I just wanted to give everyone a quick update on Hannah's appointment last week before she has another one this week!!

Hannah's labs were showing a rise in some of her liver enzymes so they have increased two of her immunosuppresant drugs.  They believe she might be showing signs of acute rejection but believe adjusting her medication will do the trick.  The one lab that shows how the liver is functioning is continuing to trend downward which is a good thing.  So far the liver seems to be functioning up to par but we just got to keep her body from rejecting it!!  I think it is a fine line with finding the right dose of medicine that works for her and her body.  Her weight was very disappointing:(  She only weighed 13 pounds which is less than what she was when she left the hospital.  We were shocked due to the fact she has been tolerating her feeds and eating table foods on top it.  She is still refusing her bottles but is now taking her soy milk and formula by sippy cup.  We think she just decided she wanted to be big like her brother:)  The doctor didn't seemed to concerned about her weight because she could have still been swollen and had some fluid retention when she came home from the hospital.  They continued to say if she loses again then we will have to consider finding ways to increase her caloric intake.  Her body is in recovery mode, and they believe she is just burning through all this food and medicine.

Overall  they were not concerned but not jumping for joy either.  I, on the other hand, was very disappointed in her weight. I thought for sure she would have at least gained a half of a pound! Tomorrow we go back for labs and a weight check.  If the labs look like they are improving and she gained at least an ounce they will not need to see us for clinic this week.  So this weekend, we have been pumping as much food into her as we possibly can!

We had a wonderful and relaxing weekend at home hanging out as a family.  We went swimming, had a picnic, BBQ, and played outside all weekend.  Hannah had a great time being outside even though she can't swim!  Lets keep our fingers crossed for a better report for this week!!
