Hannah keeps moving forward.....
It has been two weeks since my last post so I thought everyone would like to know what Hannah has been up too! Well, she has been living the life of a healthy 13 month old! It is so nice to just live our lives. I would like to say life is normal but we have definitely come into our new normal. I wish I could say that one day I forget all that we have gone through thus far, but I don't think that will ever be the case. There is always some point of the day I reflect back, and hope and pray we are past the worst. Sometimes I feel like we had it rough for so long it's hard to think it is totally over. I just think and wait for when the ball is going to drop and our luck is going to run dry! But then I talk myself out of it and say to myself, "If we got through all this, we will get through what ever lies ahead. Hannah is doing amazing."
So now to get you up to speed on Hannah! We started off the weekend taking our first trip with Hannah. We spent the weekend with my awesome brother in law, sister in law, and my bestest friend and her family at the Lake of the Ozarks. Thank you to the Azar family for letting us stay at your place. It was such a much needed get away! We had a great time relaxing and hanging out. Hannah and Jacob had so much fun playing with their cousin Peter and friends Caroline and Connor. Hannah started experiencing allergies on Sunday but it didn't stop her from smiling. We even got to see a double rainbow while we were done there. It couldn't be more fitting:) Today she had the First Steps dietician and PT come and work with her. First off she is up to 15lbs 15 ounces! She is continuing to move up the growth curve and is almost on the charts of length! Second of all, the PT was so impressed with how fast she is catching up. Not only is Hannah crawling on all 4's all over the place but she is starting to pull herself up to stand. She gets to her knees and can plant one foot but then needs a little help from that point. It seems like every week she hits a new milestone! She totally amazes me! Now for her personality, and oh boy does she have one of those! She is not only a sweetheart and always happy, but is very curious and knows what she wants. She is one of those kids that love to play with outlets, cracks in between the wall and doors, and everything else she shouldn't touch. She has no fear! That is were she is totally opposite of her brother! So the childproofing has begun! Jacob helps a lot with that too of course "NO, NO Hannah. Only for Mommy and Daddy's to touch!" Then we see Hannah lunge to head butt him because she wants to do what she wants to do! It calls for a pretty comical day around here.
We go for labs next week. It will be a month since her last set, so I know I will be on pins and needles until I get those results. If things look good she will be off another immunosupressant, which would be great! At that point, she will only be on one immunosupressant and that will be the one she will take for life! She is still on a few other medicines but those won't go away until one year post transplant.
Anyways, I posted some pictures of Hannah just enjoying life. Please keep her in your prayers next week for good lab results and I hope to post good news again! :)

What an amazing story! You both are incredibly brave parents, and a well deserved get away! I'm so grateful you were surrounded by great doctors to see Hannah through this. Praying with you for great lab results! Love the pictures also!! Thank you again cuz for sharing your heart and thoughts! All my love, Julie xo
ReplyDeleteBeth sent me to your blog because she knew you needed prayers and thought I'd remember you from our high school years. I've been following Hanna's story and praying ever since then. Crazy enough, we have a lot of similarities! My kids go to Dr Ganninger, we had FirstSteps- Olivia, Colleen and Tara. So happy to see things are going so well for your little angel and I pray they continue to improve! Much love!
